Description
Juicy and flavorful teriyaki chicken made easily in the air fryer with a sweet and savory glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger to make the marinade.
- Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag and pour half of the marinade over them. Seal and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours).
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Remove chicken from marinade and place in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Discard used marinade.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine remaining marinade, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Brush cooked chicken with teriyaki glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
