For the Crust:

  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the blueberry mixture, spreading gently.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden and the blueberries are bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
