For the Crust:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp water (optional, for slurry)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Place chicken thighs in the crock pot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Pour over chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. If desired, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then stir into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  5. Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables.

Notes
