A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich with savory beef patties and melted cheese.

For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 8 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 thin patties.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the sliced onions until caramelized (optional).
- Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, layer cheddar cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions (if using), and Swiss cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
- Grill the sandwiches on a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste.
