For the Crust:
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a blender or food processor, puree the cherries until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cherry puree, sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
- Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Serve and enjoy!
