For the Crust:

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 25-30 minutes or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and raisins (if using). Let cool slightly before serving warm or chilled.
