For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the sauce and cook until thickened.
  7. Toss the baked meatballs in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
