For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil.
- Add the broken lasagna noodles and simmer until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with a dollop of ricotta cheese and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
