For the Crust:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.
- Season the cheese sauce with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, stirring until well coated.
- Serve immediately while hot.
