For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot or deep skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, water, and salsa. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the uncooked macaroni, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese and sour cream until well combined.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve immediately.
